Find the Bedrock update that matters to your world, device or next adventure. This history covers September 17, 2023 through September 17, 2026, with practical notes for stable releases and a separate Beta/Preview archive. Use it to catch up on new features, investigate an old problem or find the full MineBrush guide for a game drop.
Latest stable update checked: Bedrock 26.51. It follows Wilderness Bound 26.50 and fixes a world-loading crash involving large connected constructions. Updates reach platforms as they are approved, so a different rollout time does not automatically mean your installation is broken. Check your device's official store and the version shown in-game.
What should a returning player try?
- Explore with friends: Wilderness Bound adds camps and exploration routes. Chase the Skies introduces happy-ghast travel and the Locator Bar for finding your group.
- Give your base a purpose: The Copper Age offers storage and equipment projects; Tricky Trials adds the crafter for a small automatic workshop.
- Collect and care for animals: Armored Paws gives wolves armor and biome variants. Tiny Takeover introduces redesigned babies and golden dandelions for keeping supported mobs young.
- Change the atmosphere: The Garden Awakens brings pale oak and resin; Spring to Life adds new exploration details. Vibrant Visuals arrives with Chase the Skies on supported Bedrock devices.
Open the full guide beside a release below for controls, examples and edition-specific limits. These are the versions in which features arrived; you do not need to install every intermediate release to collect their contents. Later versions include earlier features, sometimes with revised rules.
Similar version numbers do not mean the same update
Bedrock 26.3 and Java 26.3 are different releases. Bedrock 26.3 is a March 2026 hotfix; Java 26.3 is September's Wilderness Bound release. The matching Bedrock content drop is 26.50. Always check the edition before following a guide or choosing an add-on.
Bedrock can also use different numbers for the same update on different platforms. For example, Mojang identifies 1.20.60 and the Switch/dedicated-server version 1.20.61 as having the same contents. The 1.20.70/71 notes explicitly say those two variants are multiplayer-compatible. Do not extend those specific statements to every pair of similar numbers.
A stable app update may include optional experiments. Copper golems were still experimental in Bedrock 1.21.100; their normal release is 1.21.111. Sulfur features were experimental in 26.20 and became the stable Chaos Cubed drop in 26.30. A screenshot from an experiment is not proof that the feature is available in an ordinary world on that earlier version.
Stable release history: changes with a reason to care
The notes below highlight player-facing additions and corrections. Small hotfixes have short entries; major drops link to full guides. For combined platform notes, dates identify the official note or its dated amendment, not a promise that every device received it at the same moment. Where the author does not state the release day, the entry says so.

A practical update routine for phones, consoles and Windows
- Read the edition and device restriction. A Windows-only mouse fix will not appear as a separate console download. A PlayStation patch may address a problem your phone never had.
- Keep a recoverable world copy. Before an important upgrade, use the backup, copy or export options available on your platform. Confirm what the copy contains; do not assume account sign-in alone protects every local world.
- Update through the official store or launcher for your device. Avoid replacing the game with an unofficial package just to force a patch that has not reached your platform.
- Coordinate the group. Check the Realm or server's version and give the rollout time to reach your friends. A Beta/Preview installation is not the ordinary release branch.
- Check the world before a long session. Inspect inventory, pets, storage, packs and travel routes. Test add-ons against their author's supported versions and read any known issue affecting your device.
Example: if an older PS5 world loads with unexpected terrain after a Copper Age update, preserve the original save before trying more conversions. Compare the 1.21.112 and 1.21.120 notes. A hotfix preventing future damage is not automatically a repair for a world already overwritten.
Another example: a Windows player with camera or cursor trouble after 1.21.120 should follow the sequence through 1.21.121–1.21.124. An early hotfix can address part of a problem while later notes acknowledge remaining cases. Do not stop at a headline saying “fixed.”
Beta and Preview: useful testing, separate from your main game
Use the test branch to try an upcoming feature or reproduce a specific issue in a disposable world. Expect changes, missing platform builds and possible world incompatibility. Preserve your ordinary world before any conversion, and follow the official enrollment instructions for your platform rather than assuming every device uses the same process.
Latest test notes checked: Beta/Preview 26.60.24, September 16, 2026. Mojang says this particular build is unavailable on iOS and PlayStation that week because of build issues. That is a build-specific exception, not a general claim that those platforms never support Preview.
This test includes fixes for custom skins resetting after relaunch, straw-bed camera height, healing tamed baby mobs and the large-connected-structure loading crash. Test one relevant behavior at a time: for example, relaunch a disposable world after choosing a custom skin and check whether the selection stays. A fix listed in Preview does not by itself establish which stable release contains it.
