Current release check: Fullbright UB 6.0 is a client-side Java resource pack for Minecraft 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2. The current release does not list Minecraft 26.2.
The pack makes dark areas appear maximally bright. That is a rendering aid, not actual light: it does not place torches, change server light values, prevent hostile spawning, or make a dark build mechanically safe.
Match Fullbright UB 6.0
| Version | 6.0 |
|---|---|
| Modrinth version ID | bjc4gBmv |
| Published | October 12, 2025 |
| Minecraft labels | 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2 |
| Filename | Fullbright-UB-1.21 fub-6.0.zip |
| File size | 238,845 bytes |
| Release relations | No Modrinth dependency objects declared |
| Side | Client required; server unsupported |
The filename contains 1.21, but the release record—not the filename—is the version authority. Do not extend the 6.0 compatibility range to 26.2 because the project has older and newer-looking labels elsewhere.
Choose the correct rendering route
Start with the safe Java resource-pack install checklist, then use the table below to add only the renderer-specific requirement your profile needs.
| Client setup | Creator-stated route | Boundary to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla renderer | Enable Fullbright UB as a resource pack | Exact Minecraft label and whether another pack overrides the relevant assets |
| OptiFine | Use the creator’s OptiFine-compatible route | Exact OptiFine build, game version, shader state, and pack order |
| Sodium | The creator says Sodium requires PolyTone | Choose a PolyTone release that independently matches Minecraft and the mod loader |
The Fullbright UB 6.0 release record has an empty dependency array even though the project description specifies PolyTone for Sodium. Keep both facts visible: there is no version-pinned PolyTone relation in the release metadata, and the creator still documents PolyTone for the Sodium route.
PolyTone is a separate client mod with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge releases across different game versions. Do not put a PolyTone JAR in the resource-pack folder as the project text’s wording may appear to suggest. Match its own loader-specific instructions and place the Fullbright UB ZIP in resourcepacks.
Install without changing game mechanics
- Duplicate the target client profile and record its Minecraft, renderer, loader, shader, and resource-pack tuple.
- Download Fullbright UB version ID
bjc4gBmvfrom the creator-controlled versions page. - Place
Fullbright-UB-1.21 fub-6.0.zipin the client’sresourcepacksfolder without unpacking it. - For Vanilla, test the ZIP alone. For Sodium, add a separately matched PolyTone build. For OptiFine, test without an active shader first.
- Enable the pack and reload resources.
- Compare a sealed cave, nighttime surface, Nether interior, and one area with known light-level-dependent behavior.
MineBrush has not downloaded or run the 6.0 artifact. The test route does not prove anti-cheat acceptance, multiplayer permission, or gameplay safety.
Keep visual brightness separate from block light
A cave can look bright while remaining mechanically dark. Continue to use trustworthy in-game mechanics or permitted diagnostic tools for spawn-proofing, crop rules, light-dependent blocks, and build planning. A fullbright pack is not evidence that an area meets a server’s required light threshold.
On multiplayer, check the server’s rules before use. Some communities treat visibility-changing packs as accessibility tools; others prohibit them in competitive play. MineBrush cannot authorize the pack for a server it does not operate.
Resolve conflicts by renderer and asset owner
| Symptom | First useful check | Stop assumption |
|---|---|---|
| Caves remain dark in Vanilla | Confirm 6.0 is enabled, move it above packs that alter the same brightness assets, and reload | A Sodium or server component is required for the Vanilla route |
| Fullbright stops working with Sodium | Verify the exact PolyTone, loader, Sodium, and Minecraft tuple | The empty release dependency array proves PolyTone is unnecessary |
| A shader restores shadows or different exposure | Disable the shader, prove the base route, then consult that shader’s own settings and support | Pack order alone controls every shader pipeline |
| Only some dimensions or scenes are bright | Test the same location under one renderer with other lighting packs disabled | The server changed light values for one client |
| Mobs spawn in a bright-looking area | Check actual game light and spawn rules | Screen brightness equals mechanical illumination |
| 26.2 reports the pack as incompatible | Return to a creator-listed 6.0 game version or wait for an explicit release | 26.1.2 automatically covers 26.2 |
Use a controlled before-and-after check
Stand at fixed coordinates and lock the time/weather when possible. Capture the renderer, gamma/brightness setting, resource-pack order, shader state, and the same camera angle before enabling Fullbright UB. Repeat after a full restart. A bright screenshot without that tuple is not reusable compatibility evidence.
Do not publish coordinates from private bases, server addresses, account names, or unrelated chat. If a screenshot is needed for internal troubleshooting, sanitize it before it enters any private history system.
Update and remove by complete profile
Keep release 6.0 in a known-good profile while testing any successor. Preserve the exact ZIP name, version ID, game version, renderer, PolyTone or OptiFine route, shader state, and pack order. Same-named “fullbright” projects are not interchangeable.
To roll back, disable the ZIP and any route-specific helper added solely for this test, reload resources, restart the client, and compare the original location. Do not remove a shared PolyTone installation without checking whether another resource pack uses it.
No security or performance guarantee
The creator describes the pack as performant, but MineBrush has no FPS, frame-time, memory, resource-reload, shader, exposure, or device benchmark. Brighter output also does not certify a server-safe advantage, protect against hidden hazards, or reveal entities or blocks the client did not already render.
Fullbright UB is labeled All Rights Reserved. Do not mirror its ZIP, repackage it, or reuse creator screenshots without explicit permission.
