Embeddium is a client renderer mod derived from the last FOSS-licensed Sodium codebase and maintained as its own project. It is not supported by CaffeineMC, and Embeddium problems belong in the Embeddium support route.
The current creator metadata checked on August 28, 2026 does not include Minecraft 26.2. The most recent release is Embeddium 1.0.15 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. A separate 1.21.4 record is beta. This page is therefore a legacy-profile guide, not a current 26.2 recommendation.
Choose the supported profile
| Profile | Creator record | Channel |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft 1.21.1 + NeoForge | Embeddium 1.0.15 | Release |
| Minecraft 1.21.4 + NeoForge | Embeddium 1.0.12 beta | Beta |
| Minecraft 26.2 | No exact creator record observed | Unsupported by this evidence |
The project page shows older Forge and Fabric support in its history, but the selected 1.21.1 release is NeoForge. Match the exact file, not the project's lifetime platform list.
Remove known incompatible renderer add-ons
The exact 1.0.15 record declares Rubidium and TexTrue's Embeddium Options incompatible. Do not leave either project in the same active profile and then troubleshoot the result as a supported stack.
The creator says the Fabric Rendering API is integrated in Embeddium and that Indium is not required for the supported branches described by the project. Do not add Indium as a reflex without checking the exact version documentation.
Install Embeddium 1.0.15 safely
- Create or copy a Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge client profile.
- Back up the profile, options, shader configuration, resource packs, and a test world.
- Remove Rubidium, TexTrue's Embeddium Options, duplicate Embeddium files, and wrong-loader renderer JARs.
- Add Embeddium 1.0.15 from the exact creator record.
- Launch with shaders and third-party renderer extensions disabled.
- Open Video Settings, load a copied world, and walk the same route twice.
MineBrush has not launched the file. A successful menu does not prove shader, modpack, or resource-pack compatibility.
Test the renderer before tuning it
Record resolution, graphics mode, render distance, frame-rate cap, GPU, driver, resource packs, shaders, and every renderer-related mod. Use default Embeddium settings for the first run.
Check visible geometry, translucent blocks, item models, GUI rendering, chunk transitions, and frame-time consistency separately. The project includes optional translucency sorting in supported versions, but enabling an option is not evidence that every resource pack or mod renders correctly.
Fix a crash before the title screen
- Verify Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
- Remove duplicate Embeddium and old Rubidium files.
- Remove TexTrue's Embeddium Options because the exact record marks it incompatible.
- Test Embeddium alone before adding shader loaders, menu extensions, or culling mods.
- Keep the first complete renderer-related exception and exact mod list.
Fix missing faces, flicker, or translucent blocks
Disable shaders and resource packs, return Embeddium to defaults in a copied profile, and reproduce one scene. If the defect disappears only after another renderer add-on is removed, record both exact files. Do not send Embeddium issues to CaffeineMC's Sodium tracker.
Write a useful Embeddium issue report
Include the exact Minecraft, NeoForge, Embeddium, GPU, driver, Java, resource-pack, shader-loader, and shader-pack versions. Name the smallest scene that reproduces the visual or crash problem and say whether default Embeddium settings change it. For a crash, attach the first complete renderer-related exception through the creator's approved support route after removing account names, local paths, server addresses, and unrelated log data.
A report should also state whether Rubidium or TexTrue's Embeddium Options was present before cleanup. If the problem cannot be reproduced without a known-incompatible project, the unsupported stack—not Embeddium alone—is the first useful conclusion.
Do not migrate the JAR to 26.2
Embeddium 1.0.15 is a 1.21.1 file. Renaming it or placing it in a 26.2 folder does not create compatibility. A 26.2 player should make a new renderer choice from current exact 26.2 creator records instead of carrying this legacy JAR forward.
Update or remove Embeddium
Preserve the working JAR and options. Change Minecraft, NeoForge, Embeddium, or shader integration one layer at a time. When removing Embeddium, restore the previous renderer stack only in the copied profile and check world load, visual correctness, save, and reopen.
Embeddium FAQ

No exact 26.2 version appeared in the checked creator metadata.
What is the latest release in this source snapshot?
Embeddium 1.0.15 for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.
Can I install Rubidium too?
No. The exact 1.0.15 record declares Rubidium incompatible.
Should I report Embeddium bugs to Sodium?
No. The Embeddium project explicitly says it is not supported by CaffeineMC.
Creator, license, and sources
Embeddium is maintained by FiniteReality, with Asek3 credited in the project history, and is listed under LGPL-3.0-only. Use the creator-owned project, source repository, and issue tracker. MineBrush does not mirror the JAR or creator media in this package.
