MineBrushEssential is more than a local quality-of-life mod. Its creator describes peer-to-peer world hosting, friends, chat, groups, invites, picture sharing, cosmetics, emotes, skin tools, and other online services. Decide whether you want that service layer before adding it to a Minecraft profile.

Use the exact Minecraft 26.2 release
The creator's 26.2 release page was checked on August 24, 2026.

No required dependency relation is declared on that release page. The project contains older Forge and NeoForge files for other Minecraft versions, but this check did not establish a Forge or NeoForge file for 26.2. Do not reuse the live page's current 1.20.4 / NeoForge card for the 26.2 article.
Peer hosting is not dedicated-server hosting
The creator says Essential uses peer-to-peer technology and the host PC's resources. That means world ownership, host availability, backups, guest permissions, mod compatibility, and recovery remain active decisions for the players.
- Make a separate copy of the world before the first hosted session.
- Confirm who is the host and who owns the authoritative save.
- Invite only intended participants and review guest permissions.
- Match every world-affecting mod across the participating profiles.
- Test join, leave, reconnect, save, host shutdown, and rollback before moving the main world.
MineBrush did not test NAT traversal, peer addressing, host disconnect behavior, latency, bandwidth, permissions, or save recovery. Do not present peer hosting as equivalent to a managed dedicated server.
Read the privacy policy as part of setup
The current Essential privacy page says it was last updated on October 28, 2024. Its summary and full text describe categories that can include account information, email, Minecraft UUID, usage and device data, Minecraft and loader versions, concurrently running mods, IP address, activity linked to an email or UUID, user-content metadata, support information, and location-derived information. The full policy, not this summary, controls.
The policy also states that interactions or communications may be collected in some cases and describes service providers, payment processing, analytics, advertising, retention, user rights, and security limits. MineBrush did not audit Essential's actual data flows, storage, deletion handling, or legal compliance.
- Read the current privacy policy and terms before creating or using an Essential account.
- Do not share screenshots or pictures that reveal private servers, coordinates, chats, or account details.
- Review purchases, subscriptions, cosmetics, and parental controls before adding payment information.
- Recheck opt-out controls after updates instead of assuming an older setting remains unchanged.
Keep the service boundary visible
Essential is a third-party service, not an official Mojang or Microsoft service. A local JAR may load while friends, chat, invites, media, featured-server listings, purchases, or hosted worlds depend on external services and policies. Offline behavior and service outages were not tested.
The project's Modrinth details declare advertising through a featured-server list, paid cosmetic features, and opt-out telemetry. Those declarations are decision inputs, not accusations or proof of any unlisted behavior.
Run a low-risk first session
- Create a separate Fabric 26.2 profile and add Essential 1.4.1.1 from the creator page.
- Review account, privacy, telemetry, friend, and invite settings before opening a valuable world.
- Use a copied test world with one trusted participant.
- Test only the intended features; leave purchases and user-content sharing out of the first session.
- Confirm the host can save, stop, reopen, and restore the copied world.
- Record unexpected service or account messages without publishing personal information.
