VeinMiner Hotkey is a client companion for Miraculixx's VeinMiner system. It adds a hold/toggle key, target preview, and pattern controls. It does not create vein mining by itself: the VeinMiner base mod or plugin must be active where the world rules run.
The current Minecraft 26.2 release checked on August 28, 2026 is VeinMiner Hotkey 2.12.1. Separate exact files exist for Fabric/Quilt and NeoForge.
Choose the exact loader branch
| Client profile | Hotkey record | Required relations |
|---|---|---|
| 26.2 Fabric or Quilt | 2.12.1 Fabric/Quilt | VeinMiner, Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin |
| 26.2 NeoForge | 2.12.1 NeoForge | VeinMiner, KotlinLangForge |
Do not mix the two Hotkey JARs. On a multiplayer server, the base VeinMiner project must be installed and configured server-side. In single-player, install the base project in the local game profile because the integrated server owns the mining rule.
Install VeinMiner Hotkey
- Confirm Minecraft 26.2 and the exact loader in the client profile.
- Install the VeinMiner base mod where the world rules run.
- Add the loader-specific Kotlin/API dependencies listed in the exact Hotkey record.
- Add only the matching VeinMiner Hotkey 2.12.1 JAR.
- Launch a disposable world or join a server that explicitly allows the feature.
- Test one low-value ore or log group before using it near a build.
MineBrush has not run this tuple. The sequence follows creator metadata and keeps server authority separate from the client UI.
Understand the controls
The creator documents a hold key that defaults to Y or Z depending on the keyboard layout. The toggle key is unbound until the player assigns it. Search Controls for every action using the same physical key before assuming the mod failed.
While holding the hotkey, scroll to change the mining pattern. Holding Shift while scrolling changes pattern depth or width. The creator lists O as the default pattern-configuration key, with a Mod Menu route when that optional UI is present.
Why the preview works but mining does not
The client can draw a crosshair or block preview even though the server rejects the action. Confirm that the server has a compatible VeinMiner base installation, the feature is allowed, and the target block follows the server's current rules.
The creator states that the client companion disables itself when the server does not have VeinMiner. A server can also control client behavior through /veinminer settings client ..., including whether the client add-on is allowed, whether highlights show through blocks, and whether all blocks can be targeted within other rules.
Fix a missing hotkey or pattern menu
- Verify the exact loader JAR and all required dependencies.
- Search Controls for hold, toggle, and pattern keys.
- Bind the toggle key if that workflow is desired; it is unbound by default.
- Test the O key and the hold-plus-scroll combination without another keybind mod.
- Confirm Mod Menu is present before expecting its settings button.
Test without losing blocks or breaking a build
Use disposable blocks in a copied world. Start with the smallest pattern and inspect the highlighted set before mining. Compare block count, drops, tool durability, hunger cost, enchantment behavior, and protected-region behavior separately.
Do not test beside storage, redstone, support columns, or valuable terrain. A client preview is not proof that every highlighted block will be accepted or dropped by the server.
Multiplayer rules and fair play
Server owners control whether the client add-on is allowed and which blocks or patterns are valid. Read the rules before binding a toggle that can remain active. Never describe the add-on as a bypass: its documented design respects server VeinMiner settings.
Update and rollback
Keep the working Hotkey JAR, base VeinMiner version, dependency versions, and config together. Update client and server pieces deliberately. If the preview or mining behavior changes, restore the previous complete tuple rather than downgrading only one Kotlin or API library.
VeinMiner Hotkey FAQ
Can the Hotkey mod vein-mine by itself?
No. The creator requires the base VeinMiner system on the server, or in the local client for single-player.
Why does the target highlight appear but nothing mines?
The server may lack VeinMiner, deny the client add-on, reject the block, or enforce a different pattern. Check server authority before changing visuals.
Which 26.2 loaders are supported?
The exact 2.12.1 records cover Fabric/Quilt and NeoForge with separate files and dependencies.
Is the toggle key enabled by default?
No. The creator lists it as unbound; assign it in Controls if you want toggle behavior.
Creator, license, and sources
VeinMiner Hotkey is maintained by Miraculixx and is listed under LGPL-3.0-only. Use the creator-owned Hotkey project, the exact loader record, the base VeinMiner project, and the source repository. MineBrush does not mirror the JAR or creator screenshots in this package.
