Sound Physics Remastered changes how Minecraft Java sounds are heard through spaces and materials. The project describes sound attenuation, reverberation, and absorption through blocks. In practical terms, an open field, a stone room, a tunnel, and a sound source behind a wall should not all feel identical.
The selected current builds are Sound Physics Remastered 1.5.1 for Minecraft 26.2, and all three exact records are labeled Beta. MineBrush has not listened to them, measured CPU use, checked voice-chat latency, or evaluated hearing comfort. Keep volume conservative and treat the following route as evidence-bounded setup.

It is not an exclusivity claim: Quilt shares the listed Fabric branch, while the exact creator records below provide separate NeoForge and Forge files. Choose only the row that matches your instance.
Choose the correct 1.5.1 beta file

The exact files declare those relations as optional, not universal requirements. Install one loader build. Do not combine the Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge JARs. Add Simple Voice Chat only when voice integration is part of the profile, after ordinary game audio works.
Separate reverb, occlusion, and volume
Reverb is the sense of reflections in a space. Occlusion is the change when blocks stand between the listener and source. Attenuation changes how sound falls off over distance. If a cave feels too loud, do not randomly lower every option: determine whether the problem is overall volume, excessive reflections, weak obstruction, or another audio mod processing the same sound.
Install with a listening baseline
- Confirm Minecraft Java 26.2 and the exact loader.
- Copy the working profile and record master, blocks, weather, hostile, player, and voice volume.
- Install one 1.5.1 beta JAR without optional voice integration.
- Use speakers or headphones at a comfortable level.
- Test one fixed sound in an open area, behind one wall, at a doorway, and inside one simple room.
- Save, close, reopen, and repeat before changing settings.
Choose a repeatable source such as a note block or piston rather than a random mob. Keep source position, listener position, wall material, room shape, view direction, and volume unchanged. This makes a comparison useful even without laboratory equipment.
Fix silence or sounds that feel muffled everywhere
First confirm Minecraft's category volumes and the operating system's output device. Test the same scene without other reverb, voice, surround, or audio-processing mods. Restore Sound Physics Remastered defaults and change one option at a time.
If one block or modded material produces an unexpected result, record the block ID, room geometry, source, and listener coordinates. “Caves sound wrong” is not enough evidence to identify absorption or occlusion behavior.
Add Simple Voice Chat only after game audio works
The project is optimized for use with Simple Voice Chat 2.x, but the selected records list it as optional. Keep voice input, voice output, microphone permissions, push-to-talk, and acoustic processing as separate checks. A working note block does not prove remote voices are routed correctly.
Use a consented test partner, fixed positions, and ordinary speaking volume. Compare direct line of sight, one wall, a doorway, and distance. Do not record another player's voice without permission.
Check performance and comfort honestly
Acoustic processing can add work, but MineBrush has no benchmark for these builds. Record frame time and CPU conditions in the same scene with and without the mod. Do not claim a fixed cost or improvement based on another PC.
Reverberation can also be fatiguing. Start low, avoid sudden loud test sounds, and stop if the result is uncomfortable. Accessibility and hearing preferences matter more than reproducing a creator showcase exactly.
Update or leave the beta safely
Keep the previous working JAR and its config before trying 1.5.1. If the beta changes audio, performance, or stability in a way you cannot isolate, restore the prior JAR and matching config together. Do not change loader, voice mod, output device, and acoustic settings in the same rollback.
Creator, license, and evidence
Sound Physics Remastered is maintained by henkelmax and is licensed GPL-3.0-only. The project credits earlier Sound Physics work in its history. Use the official project, exact beta records, and the source repository. This rewrite contains no audio sample, JAR, or creator media.
